ocated at 16th Avenue & Sullivan Road

Those of you who travel along Sullivan Road and16th Avenue have noticed the District’s “green spot” that has been maturing into a park like area over the past few years.  This site at South Sullivan Road and 16th Avenue is for a future planned substation design and is not planned for a decade or more until there is a need to serve the additional energy needs for our customers.

You may have notice a few other spots around Veradale that have also been developed into “green spots” that are located next to a Vera Water and Power water or power facility of some type.  Another area which has “greened up” is next to Vera’s office on North Evergreen Road.

Planning and purchasing property for future facilities sites needs to take place well in advance of any preliminary stages due to the tremendous costs involved in construction of a substation that will be required for future power needs with the Spokane Valley’s growing population and the type of high technology loads that will place demand on Vera’s power distribution system.  Vera’s Board of Directors and staff are looking long range in order to be able to assure that there will be the facilities to serve the electrical needs of Vera’s customers.

In the meantime, the property at Sullivan Road and 16th Avenue is a great place for everyone to enjoy the spacious green lawn.  Now, there is a fence along Sullivan Road to help prevent any children or pets from accidently running out into Sullivan Road while playing there.  If you have any questions regarding this site, please contact us at info@verawaterandpower.com or you may feel free to call us at our office at (509) 924-3800.
