The District offers a number of special programs for customers to ensure that our utility's service is safe, efficient and affordable. Participation in these programs is voluntary and eligibility requirements vary by program.
Vera offers a $100 rebate for the installation of a qualifying energy-efficient hot water tank. Stop by Vera for a list of qualifying hot water tanks that are available locally.
Please let us know if you have a street light that is out in your neighborhood. We rely on you to notify us because we normally do not have the opportunity to see street lights after dark unless the crews are out in the District during an emergency outage. Vera starts our annual tree trimming project in February each year. Thanks for working with us in the past on this tree trimming work! Routine trimming prevents outages due to limbs falling on wires and electric services. You can call with a tree concern any time, and we will work it into the program.
Washington State law requires individuals to notify all utility providers before they undertake any project that involves digging. If you call 1-800-424-5555, at least 48 hours before you dig, we will mark the location of all known underground power and water lines in the area where you intend to dig. You will also have locations for other types of utilities underground such as telephone, gas and cable marked through that number. Red for Electric, Blue for Water, Orange for Telephone/TV-Cable, Yellow for Gas and Green for Wastewater.

This plan will provide an
equal monthly payment for all of your routine charges from Vera, including your
annual excess water billing. This program addresses concerns of several of
our customers who have difficulty with high winter or summer power bills, high
fall excess water bills or other seasonal differences that make your utility
bill vary up or down significantly. In order to sign up for this program,

you work through those difficult times. The Spokane Valley Outreach
Program at Valley Partners (927-1153) has emergency assistance funds available for Vera customers
that you may qualify for these funds depending upon your income and the number
of people in your family.
